The All-knowing God

1 Corinthians 2 (New International Version)

1 Corinthians 2

¹When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.^[a] ²For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. ³I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. ⁴My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, ⁵so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

Wisdom From the Spirit

⁶We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. ⁷No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. ⁸None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. ⁹However, as it is written:
   "No eye has seen,
      no ear has heard,
   no mind has conceived
   what God has prepared for those who love him"^[b]— ¹⁰but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
      The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. ¹¹For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. ¹²We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. ¹³This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.^[c] ¹⁴The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. ¹⁵The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
¹⁶"For who has known the mind of the Lord
      that he may instruct him?"^[d] But we have the mind of Christ.

Working night shifts on a slow day

I usually refer to very slow times like tonight as "dead", but the word is not a very appropriate term to use in a hospital. hehe . Anyway, I've been up from my break since 2 am and I'm struggling to keep myself awake. .

I already drank my tea to give me a little bit of a jolt. It's during these quiet times where I get a chance to study/mediate on some songs and the promises of God. Oh, how I miss these times. (Check-out Jeremy Camp's song below, called, "I Will Walk by Faith").

Journey of Trust Chronicles

These past few days, I've been reminded of how kind and loving my God is. Sometimes, I get overwhelmed with the things around me, and I forget that I my God is in control of every detail of my life.
In my quiet times of prayer, God has revealed to me that "the man (or woman) who fears the Lord will never be shaken...he will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord." Psalm 112:6-7

The song below reminds me, that, sometimes, our mind may not be convinced to believe that God is in control of the things and situations in our lives; but in times where we cannot fathom God's ways, we just have to trust that God knows what he's doing and he plans the best for us.

Working night shifts on a rainy day

Well, actually, I have been at work the whole night and I don't know if it's raining outside. I still have an hour and a half more to go and I'm trying my best to stay awake . The unsettled patient has finally settled. So now, the battle is to stay alert for the rest of the shift. Thank God for the instant coffee that's stashed at the nursing station's cupboard and for the internet, I have managed to stay awake. Thank God it rained today too. The snow on the streets has finally melted. Sometimes, it's nice to get rained on...hee.

Snow, snow, and more snow

It has been snowing for weeks in Vancouver now. Last night, they predicted rain. Everyone was so excited because the rain will finally melt the snow. But guess what? The rain turned into snow! Aiaiah! ...and I still have a cold.

This was in front of my street that never gets plowed.

Happy New Year to all of you!
I have been very busy as of late and I didn't have much chance to update my Xanga.
This year, since my nursing program is already finished, I resolve to spend more time releasing my creative energy blogging. Let me begin this year by documenting the last few months of my life in pictures.
